Uncharted: Golden Abyss could one day get a remake on PlayStation 4. Although a reworked release of the handheld title hasn’t been confirmed, Naughty Dog has also refused to rule it out. The game, released in 2012 as a PS Vita exclusive, was a prequel to Drake’s Fortune, and when asked about a possible update in an interview with Finder, communications chief Arne Meyer had this to say:
”I think that’s not completely out of the question. I mean it’s not entirely up to us, obviously. I think I was asked this at Eurogamer Expo and Shuhei Yoshida was sitting in the front row and I pitched it off on him and I was like, “you have to go talk to Shu about this,” which is what the case is.
”But it’s definitely not out of the question. I mean anything is possible. I know there hasn’t been talk about that recently, but there’s no reason why it can’t happen either.”
It certainly doesn’t sound like a remaster is in the studio’s plans right now, but fans hoping for more Uncharted need look no further than The Lost Legacy, which is heading to PS4 in August. For more on that, check out our recent interview with Naughty Dog right here.
